SHABBAT LUNCH, MAY 31

Tasting and Voting will be at Shabbos Lunch, May 31st. Each participant at Shabbos Lunch will get two tickets to put into the cholents of his/her choice. Well, not into the Cholents directly, it will be in a small box next to each Cholent.

Get ready to taste some interesting Cholent.

WHAT IS CHOLENT?

Jewish tradition does not allow cooking on the Sabbath, unless the food was put up to cook on Friday and remained cooking all Sabbath. Cholent is a slow-cooked stew, eaten traditionally at Saturday lunch. Most Cholents contain some type of meat, although there are some very good vegetarian cholents, and we serve a vegetarian version, as well as a meat Cholent each week at the Chabad House.
