Patterson Park in East Baltimore has never been known as a big venue for celebrations for Lag B'Omer, the holiday celebrating the 33rd day of the counting of the Omer, the 49-day period between Passover and Shavuot. But Chabad Lubavitch of Downtown Baltimore made up for lost time by hosting a Lag B'Omer Community BBQ at the park's Promenade Pavilion lastTuesday evening, May 12.

Activities included kite-making and kite-flying lessons for children, and the consumption of hotdogs, hamburgers and drinks. Between 40-50 people came.

"We wanted to do this for the downtown community, even though people came from Odenton and Pikesville," said Rabbi Levi Druk, director of Chabad Lubavitch of Downtown Baltimore."People had a great time."
