The procession left drove onto the JFX to the Inner Harbor. It culminated in McKeldin Square, where a menorah lighting ceremony, live musical entertainment, and 500 hot latkes, 500 donuts, 500 bottles of spring water and 20 gallons of hot apple cider awaited us.

It was quite a sight, almost surreal-approximately 100 vehicles of all types driving parade-style, sporting menorahs on their roofs and Chanukah-themed signs, from Yeshivat Rambam in Upper Park Heights to McKeldin Square at the Inner Harbor. At McKeldin Square, about 600 attendees enjoyed music, latkes, jelly doughnuts and hot drinks, while Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake helped light the chanukiah.

BALTIMORE -- Baltimore City residents celebrated Hanukkah Saturday, in downtown Baltimore.
Rawlings-Blake lit the menorah and addressed the crowd.
"We hope this will be the first of many celebrations in the future when we're going to have a special menorah designed and built in Baltimore," Rabbi Shmuel Kaplan said.
Songs and other festivities accompanied the lighting.
